Another amp question: wiring
I have my amp all set up, I have the power coming from the battery, and it grounded in the back, as well as the remote wire going to the cigarette lighter. The amp turns on with the car and does all that properly.
My problem is with the RCA cables. Since i am using the factory head unit, i tied them into the + and - speaker wires for the rear speakers. The wires are blue/ white (+) and Blue/orange(-), I have my + and - RCA ties into them. When I turn on my radio the two top speakers in the rear do not turn on, when they are unplugged, they work. I had a guy tell me on the forums this is how you do it, what am i doing wrong, where should i plug those RCA into with the factory unit?
Thanks guys

Never run a speaker output straight to an rca. You need to put in an inline high to low output. All you need to do is attach the speaker output from the hu to the high side of the adapter and the rca to the low side...that simple. Otherwise you can burn out your amp. Does your amp go into protect mode? Ive been working on car audio on the side as a hibby since 05, ill try to answer your questions the best i can. I dont like to listen to my music, i like to feel it. Lol

the amp does not go into protect mode. I have it all hooked up, still no sound... I have it all so it turnes on with the car, turns off with the car, rca hooked up to the adapter... ughhhh
You need to run a Line out converter to convert the speaker signal to a signal the RCAs can "read". Or you can splice a normal speaker wire off the speaker and run those to the hi level inputs on the amp, if your amp has those.

First off the remote wire needs to be tied into the power antenna wire so it turns on and off with the stereo. 2nd NEVER run your RCAs by splicing into the existing speaker wires. What you are doing is running an amp behind and amp. The proper way to do this is to use a perifial part that turns the line into a low 2-3 volt preout. You can buy this part for around $20. I forget who made it but if you go to a reputable dealer like Car Toys they will know the part you need.
