Another Alternator upgrade question
I've been searching and reading and still not seeing what I'm looking for. Seems there are a few that have upgraded to a 136A alternator from other vehicles but always require grinding the bracket.
I'm hoping to avoid grinding and doing a quick search on Rockauto.com I see there are a few "upgrade" alternators available for my '97 XJ. There are 120A from Pure Energy, Bosch, and AC Delco, as well as 136A from Pure Energy. They all seem to say they'll work with 1997-98 Cherokee and Dakota. Anyone have any experience with these alternators and didn't have to grind away the mounting bracket?
