Default Fan clutch question

It might sound like a dumb question but I want to know if the fan clutch should spin at the same speed while dead stopped and while underway.

I've been trying to figure out an overheating problem while the ac is on and stucked in traffic, i noticed that when I push the gas pedal the fan clutch starts running faster.

I tried to spin the fan manually while the engine is off and it spins freely. It is a grand cherokee fan clutch and its brand new.

It don't know it this is all normal, and again sorry if this is a very dumb question.

I think there is some trick to knowing a bad fan clutch but I forget what it it you'll have to wait for someone else on that one.

How hot is it getting?
When the ac is on does the ac condenser fan come on?
Is the fan shroud there and intact?

If it keeps spinning when the engine is shut off it is bad. Should stop spinning pretty much when the engine is shut off.

Came across this video in my travels. Was not having any cooling problems with my '00 but mine kept spinning so I replaced it anyway.

The shroud is ok, the efan is connected directly to the battery so it is always on.

It goes from 210 to 230 and higher in a matter of minutes.

Ok i just checked that and the fan clutch stops as soon as the engine is shut off.

My only concern right now is if its supposed to spin faster when the gas pedal es pressed or if it should always spin at a constant speed.

The fan is driven by the belt so yes it will spin faster when you increase the rpms.
