Default Angry eyes....

yes i know I know many people here hate them but i love them and have done them twice now to my XJ. first attempt using plastidip the light shined though them and it looked like crap. Second attempt which im on now, I used high temp rustoleum paint and then clear coated over them. No light got through them and it looks sick...until now. Now I have a whole bunch of rock chips in the paint... I want to keep the look but want something that is going to last more then a few months without getting chipped. I am a spray paint extrodinaire.. I was thinking about re-spraying them in the rustoleum and then plastidip over them...since plastidip is rubber it would maybe have less chance of chipping.. or maybe bedliner them onto the lights..

what ya think? haha

Not a big fan of angry eyes on an XJ, but I am a big fan of doing what you like. Try using vinyl. Any sign/decal shop will sell you some high quality black (or any color you want), peel, stick, done!

i think im going to. I re-did my rims in bedliner recently and they held up pretty well. I just dont like the heavy textured-ness that comes with bedliner, but it is what it is as long as it holds up.

I'd try some black vinyl. I wouldn't spray bedliner on the lights, wouldn't look right with the texture imo. And if at some point you decide you don't like the bedliner, you would just about have to buy new lights to get rid of it.

I only used one layer and it lasted pretty good for about a year until I had to replace both housings because they cracked, they were cheap housings.
