OD, is MTOD worth it? I've been thinking about subscribing, but wanted to wait for feedback.
To me it's just disposable income. Lol $7 a month is fine to see all the shows.

So i got my apn header installed, fires it up and instant redline. Vacuum leak where the intake matches up to the head. Upon looking further, the washers are sitting crooked and it look like the exhaust flange is slightly thicker than the intake flange.

Thinking about ways to fix that, and taking the header off and grinding the areas where the washers sit down to match up the intake.

Anyone else have this issue?

Saw one review on amazon about that happening.

That's actually a common issue with the APN. Grinding as you mentioned seems to be the popular fix without any issues.

Go read the rules about cat removal.
I did not remove the cat. The question is do they sound good with a glass pack or is a single chamber style muffler better.

Doesn't matter if you did of the other owner did. Not allowed to talk about it on the forum.

in the scenario that money is no object, which of these three manifolds that hook up to the pre-cats are preferable for performance quality and durability?
Banks Torque tube https://www.summitracing.com/parts/g...model/cherokee
Pacesetter performance https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...model/cherokee
or doug thorley? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/d...model/cherokee
I have access to a bead blaster in case (like stated above by another member) the paint is an issue. Also is there any sort of coating measure i should have done on them to help the heating/cooling of it? I'm new to working on anything with the exhaust so I'm still researching and learning.

I don't know if my messages aren't coming through, or if i'm blatantly being ignored for reasons i'm not sure of. If it's the latter, i apologize for anything i asked about that may have been against forum policy, although i'm not certain I've said anything. all my questions have been about keeping my exhaust setup legal with keeping/replacing the stock precats with new/better precats, and retaining all other parts of the exhaust system. I just want to make sure i'm not being ignored for neglecting something simple in my posts

I think the issue is you were asking a question that most people didn't feel they could give a constructive answer, cherokees only had precats for 2 or 3 years so not many of the people on this forum have them additionally most of us are working on a budget and have never had the opportunity to try any of the headers that you asked about. I would go with the banks if money were no object mainly so I could have the banks badge lol

thanks for the response i can totally understand wanting to place some stickers/badges on your car to show what you've got going on under the hood. Personally i'm not a big fan but to each their own. I suppose i was exceptionally curious as i've begun doing work on my fathers intake heads for his 1969 sc/rambler that he's restoring and it got me thinking a lot about effective flow throughout the entire engine. I was feeling most partial to the banks as i looked through my options but i wasn't sure of anyone's experience with them vs. others and if they had any known issues. But thank you again . side note, i didn't intend for the "money is no object" to sound as if i'm some rich boy or have an affluent family as it's quite the opposite being in college and most of my earnings going into tuition payments, but regardless of money being put in i wanted to make sure that i was investing what i need to to ensure my exhaust is done right.

Yeah sorry man. I DID see your post, but I've only ever had OBDI Jeeps (and one of them didn't even run) so I didn't have an answer for you. Those three brands you listed are all very good. I've heard nothing BUT good reviews about them. But I don't know anything about specific reviews for them on the CARB compliant Jeeps.

Finally got back to my inatalling my apn header. Had to take it apart and grind down the mounting areas. Picked up a digital caliper from harbor freight so i could get it close. Also had to pound the 1 and 6 tube to clear the intake. Re installed it tonight with a new fel pro gasket and she was good to go. No more crazy vaccuum leaks. Fuel trims are about as good as you can get, and she runs great.

Not sure i would buy the apn header again. While it looks cool, it was alot of hassle to get it to fit right. I tricked myself into thinking, "oh man, my vehicle has a header, this is going to make it awesome" metality, even though i did tons of research on it and it doesnt do a whole lot for the engine performance wise

I might have an exhaust leak time to upgrade to a better muffler!
