Hey all, newbie owner of a 1999 XJ with 110,000 miles on it. It's really clean and no rust, despite previous owners in the salt belt. I noticed the muffler has a couple of holes in it and want to upgrade the cat and cat-back (cb). I'm not sure of the stock measurements, but would it be possible to have a 2.5" cat and cat-back? was thinking of these so far: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mpe-99006hm http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-17748

Thanks, everyone, this stuff is really helpful. Is it necessary for me to buy the tailpipe or can I just go to Meineke with the cat and muffler and have them fit the pipe?

Fine a mom and pop type exhaust shop. They have way cheaper prices and do better work then. Chain shops. All custom exhaust shops have pipe on stock and bend on the spot

I am looking to get thunderbolt cat with flowmaster 44. Which thunderbolt do I get "theres tons" does it come with the o2 sensors this is for a 96 xj country.and can I get 2.5 and throw it on cause the super 44 with the pipe is 2.5 on performance curve. Trying to figure out exactly what I need got inspection this month and as of right now not exhaust on.

What are bungs. I just wanma buy this and have someone put it on.I wanna be able to put the sensors right back on after everythings done.but one of my main concerns is the only way you basically can do 2.5 is if you get someone to make a custom downpipe? So I can just do a 2.25 cat and a 2.5 flowmaster exhaust then since I cant get the downpipe or no

Where is everyone in Southern New Jersey getting their muffler work done? I'd rather use a mom/pop shop than a big chain (Burlington/Camden county area, btw).

What are your guys' opinions on the Pacesetter headers available? They look like the best design you can get, especially for the price.
I have a '97 automatic that I want to put them on. I'm not too concerned about cracking in the exhaust from overheating, because this Jeep won't be going on any rough trails and will be mostly a pavement pounder.

Hey guys I hope I'm in the right area, not the best at navigating the forum just yet. I Have a '00 jeep cherokee sport 4.0 5spd My exhaust is pretty trashed although. I. Don't have any codes or anything I'm going to replace the muffler, and my question is would deleting my cat and just running a pipe and muffler but leave the rear o2 in place would that just make the Jeep run like crap? I don't have state inspections so it's not needed in my area. I'm just curious if the Jeep would even run without the cat there or if it would cause it too run too cramps or anything Thanks in advance for any advice or response
