Highflow cat from performance curve, 2.5" piping, and either a flowmaster super 10 or cherry bomb extreme. And if you're up for it, a header. I myself have these minus the muffler. I love it
EDIT: I also have a 4" tip. It really gives it a low, mean growl. And it cackles like hell!!!

I think something inside inside my cat is broken and rattling around making a HORRIBLE sound. I'll probably be replacing my muffler as well. (leaning towards the direct fit magnaflow cat and a flowmaster 40) My question is what do most people do. Use slip fit style fittings like the factory? Or weld? Or band clamps? I was thinking about tacking it in place and using band clamps bc my welder isn't supposed to be able to weld stainless. Basically just curious what most people do... Thanks everyone

forgot to read the whole post, if you are doing the cat, weld the entire seam as that would then become an emission issue if you don't have a good seal on the inlet of your exhaust. i only did the muff, and tacked that on
I'm considering a complete exhaust overhaul, and with no experience with performance headers, I want to know if there is much difference between say a Banks or Gibson setup (400$) compared to say a Dorman(150$).....is the performance boost significant versus the price or are you just buying the name? And if you had your choice...what would be your ideal header and why?

It depends on what you get. I got the metallic core cat with 300 holes per square inch and it sounds straight piped. Then there's my buddy's ZJ that sounds like a diesel with only a cat. It'll make you legal too.
