...I'd just like it to be more of a middling solution (damn catalytic converter, anyways: why oh why did I have to research the problem now ...why couldn't I have remained blissfully ignorant just a few days longer ...and figure out the bloody thing was going to have to be replaced ...when I would have already spent the money on decent shocks ...and new bushings ...and new coils ...and are those brakes getting wussy? ...aargh)

No, I haven't used those tires.

But I've been buying and riding on Kenda bicycle tires for many, many years. They were utter crap in the beginning: completely awful (but very, very cheap, which sometimes mattered when I was doing someone a favor that was going to come out of my own pocket with very little chance of ever being repaid).

But starting about a dozen years back give-or-take, they changed. Quality control and design improved. Now decent to very good mid-range stuff. (I bought a pair for a vintage 1966 Raleigh restore project just last summer. My personal ride.)

...and it ain't too weird to be mentioning bicycle tires as an authority source, so y'all quit laughing. I am VERY discriminating on bikes (I've ridden tens of thousands of miles over the past 40 years: one of my hobbies is restoring classic bicycles).

For example: Continental makes excellent vehicle tires. They make superb (and v. expensive) bicycle tires (some of you would no doubt faint at what cyclists routinely pay for good tires sometimes ...waaay more than some quite well known off-road tires ...my old Clement silks cost more each than entirely shoeing my old Bug cost, back in the day).

Makin' is makin'.

And having just bought new tires (235/75R15 GY Wrangler), the price you quoted is just this side of beyond excellent. So buy 'em already. Get back w/ rig pix after. Let us know after a few thou' if they're meeting your expectations. Srsly.

If you want cheap, get Treadwights. They're good, cheap tires. If you want something great, pay for it.

lol, reminds me of when I was 17 and decided "make" a set of alloy wheels fit my MGB. Wrong bolt pattern wasn't gonna stop me! I took a hole saw and slotted the lug holes so they would "fit". This story ends with a tow truck and my father slapping me in the back of the head...
