I got my shocks for $40 on eBay, from a Jeep with under 10k miles. I think you can get a better price if you aren't in a hurry. As for the spacer, I'm not sure.

No go. Internet (JF, JKO, and JKS) say the springs are different sizes. And i feel you on the shocks. My rears are blown, and my pass side front is leaking. Having one good shock on a pickup sucks.

Well forget that deal than! Lol

I'm just on the fence about replacing the shocks. I could put all new stock replacements on it or for a few bucks more get a budget boost with shocks. I may just stick it out til tax time as I want to throw some OME springs and bilsteins or OME nitros on it. I'm just impatient.

I have 96xjclassic's old shocks and I have spacers/shackles. I just need to install it all, but I haven't cause I think my spacers are bigger than the lift I'll get from the shackles. And I don't want to bottom out the shocks at stock height.

alright i have a 2000 jeep cherokee with 3in RC lift. i have driveline vibrations and a grinding when i let my foot off the gas. i want to do a transfer case drop but it looks like all four bolts/studs are going to break. (two already have so i really need to figure out what i am going to do next before im stuck without a vehicle) my question is, is it permisable to just cut off all four studs and weld new, longer ones on and bolt on from there. if so any tips or advice. please someone help me out. first thing i tried was drilling and retapping but after 3 broken bits and a ruined tap i gave up on that plan. i have tried coming at it from the top cutting a hole in the floor to drop new, longer bolts in also with no luck. as it was too cramped.

How are you breaking bits? It should cut thru like butter... Buy a good bit, drill it out and drop bolts thru like originally tried. That's about your only option at this point.

Should have went with an SYE at this point... Hindsight is 20/20.

SYE on a 3 in lift?
Heck I was told most people don't even need the TC drop, but I got one anyways.

Every XJ is different. Some need it, some don't. 97+ need it more often at 3" than the older models, but you never know til you lift.

Pretty much, yeah.

Assuming all your joints are good. Have you checked them? That'd be where I started... after fixing the bolts.
