What are all the dimensions on these stock allo wheels? -01 sport

 

15 x 7 with a 6inch back spacing (aka 0 inches offset). Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm very sure thats the same as on my 99

 

I believe stock is 4.5" backspacing but, I don't think 6" is possible without putting really (really really) tires on it, as it will rub on the LCA

 

5.25 is stock back spacing.

 

X2. Some of the rims vary by .25" but they are all right around. 5.25"bs.

New member here. Lots of good reading and learning all kinds of usefull things. I have searched and found most of what I need to know but I still have a lift question.

I have a stockish 88 XJ Laredo. I did not think it had a lift but after reading about most jeeps measuring about 17 inches from center of wheel to bottom of fender I had some questions. Mine measures 18. I looked underneath and do not see anything up front but it appears there may be a factory 1 inch block on the rear. Also the previous owner put airshocks on the rear.

I want to put 31s on it but have heard horror stories about lifts gone wrong. Is there any way a mild 2" lift would get me there? Will I rub off road if I only do 2 inches? Do I need the AALs with airshocks? Should I scrap the airshocks?

Sorry for being long winded but wanted to give the needed info. If it was not for the possiblility of the already factory 1 inch and airshocks I think I would have my answers.

Of course money is always a concern but I would rather do it right the first time then do it over again later. Is OME really worth the money?

as far as the answer to your question, is your cherokee the upcountry package? Those come an inch or inch and a half taller than factory... as far as an inexpensive 2" lift... there are quite a few companies that sell a "budget boost" lift... with spring spacers in the front and a form of lift in the rear that is either leaf spring spacers or shackles... it's best to stay away from the leaf spacers because of the possiblity of axle wrap, but the shackle lifts are good for a couple of inches and you don't have to worry about ill-effects when off roading

I honetly do not know. I know it is a Laredo package. I knew the upcountry was taller but I just do not know if mine is an upcountry.
Mine is mostly for weekend off road trips with the occasional run to town cause the wife has the other car rig.

ah... no, upcountry is a package just like laredo... not really sure where the extra inch is coming from... as far as the 1" "Spacer" that you see... it is probably just the factory coil spring isolator... keeps it from making noise and creaking against your front axle mounts

 

I did not think it was an upcounrty but heck I could have gotten lucky. Will the airshocks have any impact on how I should go? Also I am thinking 31s might be a little bit of a reach. Probably have to go with 30s to stay on the safe side.

 

As long as all of the steps are done properly and with the proper components, there's nothing to fear with lifting a vehicle. It may drive and behave differently than before, but as long as all of the work is done properly it will not harm it.

 

M/T tires suck for winter...

 

you're the first person I've heard say that.... if the lugs have no siping, I'm sure you're right. If the lugs have a lot of siping in them, then they should do great on ice and the fact that mud tires inherently have large tread gaps and large lugs would make them a good candidate for driving through snow
