Im thinking it should look okay with that and later I believe i can fit some 30's on there, to make it look even sweeter

Whats your opinion/advice ?

I know that many of your are gonna say go high and dont waste money on the small lift but the xj is my daily driver and I dont want it to be to high for highway use ect.

Also can anyone recommend me any 2-2.5in lifts ? Thanks.
Rusty's budget boost. Make sure you replace your shocks and steering stabilizer as well. I love mine. It went in easy and the cost is great.

I almost wonder if you should lift first then buy shocks?
That's what I was thinking... Just get the 3" shocks up front, and wait on the rear til I know. With the load in the back, I'd think it would stay at/under 4" even if it gave me 4.5" on install.

Only problem I see with that is, I don't believe your stock shocks will extend an additional 3+".

Right. No shocks on the rear until I can measure and get them delivered.

Unrelated question: People seem to love Rusty's here, but I was reading on NAXJA today, and it seems like everyone there wants to kill the man. What's with that?

You just need to choose. Naxja or cf? Sounds like Naxja is becoming a little like pirate.

When I bought mine I opted for all new shocks. Make sure they are 2" longer. I went with shackles in the rear. I wouldn't recommend blocks or aal. I got 2" hockey pucks for the front.

You really should get new shocks all around. Just do a 2" spacer up front and a shackle in the rear. If your stock leafs are sagging then look for an adjustable shackle so you can even it out a little. I'm pretty sure you can get shackles that are adjustable up to 3"

Hey I'm about to do a bastard pack on a buddys 97 sport but I just ran into a problem. The leaf right above the overload leaf on one of the s10 packs is broken. Can I just take the broken one out along with the same one on the other pack and still use the remaining leafs? He only wants about 3" of lift. Thanks!

sure can. In fact if he only wants 3" of lift I would just use the s10 main (cut the eyes off) below his stock XJ main, then just add the other stock XJ springs below the s10 one. A pack with the full s10 leaf pack will be way too tall.

Do you you think the s10 main will sag quicker than a rough country 3" aal?

I am trying to decide on what long arm style i should go with, the 4 link like BDS-Suspension or a Y-link like Rough Country. BDS says the 4 link maintains better axle control which i can understand but is the difference even anything to worry about? Thanks.

Well from what I understand is that rough country long arms are actually a radius arm setup. A y-link would be something like iron rock offroad long arms. A true 4 link will give you great flex and ride good and I've heard that the IRO y-link is awesome as well. You should really look into some serious offroad long arms. His stuff is beef and very well put together. Plus waaaayyyy cheaper than Bds.
