Absolutely. The tires fill the well pretty good. But the steel wheels gives it an optical illusion making them look like they sucked up in there. Aluminum wheels don't give that illusion. I wonder if the backspace on aluminum wheels is a bit less than on the steel wheels? I know there is quite an optical difference between the two.
Looking for recommendations for my XJ. It's currently got 2" spacers in front, and unknown springs in back. I'm happy with the amount of lift in front currently, but I do plan on going another inch or two higher down the road.
My current rear springs are sagging really badly, and I'd like to replace them and get rid of my reverse rake. Quadratec has both the Crown and the Omix-Ada HD springs on sale.
My thinking is to get a set of HD springs(any preference between the crown and omixada?), and then down the road add a shackle relocation kit, lift shackles if necessary, and hopefully 3.3.5" lift springs up front to even it out when budget allows for upgraded steering/track bar components. Am I on the right track?
Welcome. Crown and Omix-Adia are the same company. So, no difference. If the sale ends before you can buy, check out morris4x4center.com they are a Crown/Omix dealer and will give you a forum discount as well.
Thank you! it was getting there, all I had left to do was the interior and I really like that Chili Pepper Red... It's an cool paint color, It the shade it is almost cherry red but in the sun like this it is almost orange. But unfortunately it WAS a good looking jeep, it landed upside down several months ago. So now I am looking for another 97 to put my new engine into, Or... an 84 to 89 Caravan with a bad engine or trans so I can take my running gear and make a 4X4 Cherovan. lol

You may also want to check out General Spring in Kansas City, they have prices very close to Crown and so far I have not heard anything bad about their springs.
31x10.5x15 would fit just fine with some MILD trimming of some plastic to avoid rubbing at full lock. 31s are nice too cause you can keep similar power to stock, but still have a more aggressive look and more off-road capability. Let me know if you need anything else (y)

Yes, I forgot about them. Lol. They also are one of the only companies for Jeep Comanche springs as well both standard and HD.
New to the XJ community. Just bought an 01’ Sport. Trying to decide on one of the two following configurations,
- 2” w/ 30x9.5r15
- 3” w/30x9.5r15
Here is the deal. This XJ will not only be my daily driver, but a vehicle that I will drive back and forth to Washington DC from Fort Bragg, NC at least monthly. I want to add a good bit of lift to it, but not so much that my ride and gas mileage suffers more than it needs to.
I understand that if I go with the 3”, I will more than likely need to drop the TC. In regard to the ride of the vehicle, what else should I be prepared to add to the current configuration?
If I go with the 2”, will the weight of upgraded steel bumpers (along with the settling of the coils/leafs) cause a drastic reduction in height? I would rather go with the 3” if that is the case.
I am not necessarily tight on money, but enlisted pay is not too hot. Thinking about Rustys 2” or 3” AAL Kits. Not too expensive and seem to be generally liked.
Tires: Trying to decide on BFG ATs or General Grabber AT2s.
Wheels: Either Trailmaster or Cragars. D windows.
How much backspacing would you guys recommend?
Like I said, I am new to the XJ community and lifts in general so most of this is way over my head. I have tried researching all of these things, but it seems like I find different answers everywhere I look. Maybe its because each Jeep reacts differently to being lifted? I have no idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Holden

you will absolutely hate aal. They are a rough ride. If you are going to lift, and want to be able to comfortably drive your jeep, go with new leaf packs.
as far as what to go with, what you are describing, i would go with a 2 inch lift with 235/75r15 tires. Get dorman or crown hd springs. They will give about 1.75 inch of kift and you can use an adjustable lift shackle to dial in your ride height. For the front, you can get coil spacers or rustys 2 inch lift coils.
