Lay down and watch it when someone has the motor running and turning the wheel back and forth. What you're looking for is lateral play. What you're seeing there might not be the cause of the problem.

Hello to all. I am looking to put a lift in my xj. Im thinking a 3" would be perfect. I am curious if i need to do anything with the drive shafts, brakes lines, steering or any of that. Im looking at the RC kit basically because it has everything you need (so it seems). Are there any other manufacturers out there that offer the same "everything you need" kits that is better? Any other reasonably priced kits?

Every other 3 inch kit out there...rough country is crap. Rustys, zone, iron rock, rubicon express.
I don't know if that's all of it, but definitely part of it. Get you some LCA skids and weld them on and fix the cracks or get HD LCA mounts and skids. I personally just have the skids and have beat them hard without issue
