I guess my question is for my other jeeping friends, has anyone tried this technigue before? is it a good idea? all criticism is welcome so don't be shy if you tell me this idea is just outrageous and cant be done. thanks guys
That's the same set up I have. 4.5" RE coils 3.5" RE leafs with 1" shackles with a RC Long arm upgrade kit. I love it, comfy on the commute but also holds its own off road.

Whats the easiest method to remove the lift blocks my jeep came with? Jack stands on the axle and floor jack to adjust the leaf spring?

Default Front driveshaft help

Ok so I have an 86 xj with a Dana 30 disco front axle and an np207 transfer case with the stick in a can driveshaft().... And the 2.8L(). I'm putting 4.5 inch Rubicon Express coil springs on it this week that'll settle right at a 4 inch front lift with the weight of the bumper and winch that'll work good with the 4 inch rear bastard pack I'm doing as well. I bought a front output yoke for a np231 that'll bolt right up to the np207 since allot of there parts are interchangeable(), now my issue is what driveshaft should I get that'll work with the front lift() I have two grand Cherokee's early models(one's a limited) & a couple newer xj's between 88-90 at my disposal in local salvage joint. Along with other vehicles as well.

I'd think if you're putting an NP231 front yoke on the NP207, you should be able to use a stock '87+ front driveshaft. I can't confirm that myself, though, as I have no experience with the 207 in XJs

The biggest difference that I can tell between the two is the gearing(lots of researching), most parts are interchange thankfully. It's actually not a bad transfer case just very little aftermarket support.

Default Is it worth it?

I just picked a 1989 Cherokee Laredo 2 door. The previous owner put an add a leaf which I am guessing is a 2 inch lift and then he gave me 2 inch spacers for the front coils and said that would level things up.

I would think that 29's would fit comfortably and they would be fine for me, but I was at the junk yard and found a parts jeep for mine that has taller springs in both the front and rear and I am tempted to go that route.

My original springs have 8 coils and the ones at the junk yard have 12 coils...I know its a long shot but would this be the 4.5 or the 6 inch lift? I asked the owner what he wanted for the springs and he said $200 for all four. Is this a fair deal?

I know it would require the drop pitman arm, as well as shocks, and possibly extended brake lines and transfer spacing kit...also different control arms?

I guess my most important question is, am I really saving any money by snagging these springs off the junker(which is in good shape) or just buy the package kit and be done? it seemed like a decent deal to me as long as I can piece together the rest of the things that I need and still come out at a decent price.

Thanks for the help!

Any issues with running 15x8 4.5"BS and 31x10.50 with a 2 inch lift on a 2000? I know I will have to trim the bottom of the flares some.

15x7 is recommended if you don't plan to step up to 12.5 wide tires in the future, but what you have listed would be fine

The problem is you likely can't identify the springs as they sit, with a few possible exceptions. The number of coils isn't indicative of any particular height because it depends on the spring rate (how much weight it takes to compress each spring 1").

Having wasted money on unidentified used parts in the past, I'd lean toward a kit. That said, you can save a ton of money buying lightly used suspension parts if you know what you're getting

Any reason why 15x7 is better on 10.50? Im sure eventually I will want to go with 33's but I will stay 10.50 width

I'd get one. Definitely worth the cost. 3" is iffy without a new track bar 4.5" is offroad only in my opinion. Not made for the angles you're putting it at, and it's not the correct length.
