Very impressive set of information, more than what I was hoping for! This will be very useful for my overall cost estimation. The lift is rough country my bad. I'll take a look at the other lift and do a comparison. Thank you very much for the help and it's a great idea to move this information to the front of this forum section.
I strongly recommend Rubicon Express for the average person who wants 3-4.5"

Please, for your sake and the sake of my sanity, PLEASE do not buy Rough Country 4.5" leaf springs. If you want to buy the rest of the kit from them because it's cheap, then fine. But those springs have a manufacturing problem, and they're not long enough. RC doesn't care, and they keep making them that way. I strongly recommend Rubicon Express for the average person who wants 3-4.5"

Just saw a guy on here use 1995 Ford F250 sway bar links on his 3" lift. Do they actually work/are actually the right length?
Edit: Google says yes that they will work. Anyone that agrees with this?

thanks for the information man... yea i bought the lift and track bar from serious.. has been a good experience.
Folks,
Looking for some history & experiences with anyone who has installed a beefed up rear DS from Billsenglewooddriveshaft.com that uses a CV and stock slip yoke design. I get that the 'best' heavy duty approach is a SYE and custom DS, but intent is daily driver and light/moderate trail use. I like that I don't need to tear into the TC and the approach is a straight bolt in swap.
These guys say they've done many of these and no problems, again for light duty use. The whole intent is to reduce the vibrations from a 3.5" lift, hence the CV.
Any historical experiences would be welcome as the total $ difference is roughly $400 for CV DS vs $550 for JB Conversions SYE & TomWoods DS.

It has two problems, compounded by each other. The slip joint does not fit very tight and allows some undesired movement. The double-cardon joint is heavy and sits far off from the slip-joint. This causes vibes all its own due to the slip-joints movement.
You could get the hack-n-tap SYE for under $100 and use your own front driveshaft in the rear until you find another stock front shaft to use.

Hey guys I am going to be installing my 4.5 inch rubicon express lift in a couple of weeks. The guy at auto zone had no idea what kind of grease I should go with for the shackles and control arms. Are there any recommendations? I have no idea what kind to get.
