In my opinion, if you can't afford an SYE and driveshaft above 3", you can't afford to lift higher than 3". Keep saving.
Thanks, bud.

Even then, I strongly advise against SYEs. It doesn't fix anything; it just moves the problem from your driveshaft to your motor mounts. In addition to that, it takes away 1" of ground clearance that your lift just gave you. In my opinion, if you can't afford an SYE and driveshaft above 3", you can't afford to lift higher than 3". Keep saving. No problem. I'm glad you find it helpful Thanks, bud.

He meant TC drop. Why he said about the losing clearance. Just his fingers typed the wrong thing

So from everything I've read, it sounds like a 3" lift falls into the category of "if you want to" vis-a-vis the SYE and driveshaft, yeah? Assuming I want to be on the safe side and mitigate any potential problems, do I risk anything (other than an anorexic wallet) by doing the SYE and driveshaft for a 3"? In other words, any validity to the claims that SYE and driveshaft swaps can *cause* the dreaded instability issues? Thanks in advance...

Hey every one. I'm a new xj owner, and I'm desperate to lift mine for beach buggying. I would want to get 33s on her, but that's kind of unrealistic for me. So, my question is, " how high can I lift it before I need to tilt the tranny or lengthen the drive shaft?" I'd appreciate any input you can muster. Cheers.

And second, you can lift her but you'll be dragging your diff along the sand with small tires. You can do 3" lift with 32s
