I need new shocks, badly. No local shop has Monroe shocks so I'm going to try to find a match from napa. I know I need a 17" collapsed 24.5" extend in the front ans 16" closed 24" extend for the rear with a 3" lift. But what size are the pins or are they just a standard size? I think I saw I could search for a zj application for the rears and Toyota land cruiser for the front?
I have the Monroe part numbers but napa said they can't x-reference them since they don't carry Monroe.

That's the one down side, I have a trip I'm taking in my heep this week and wanted them on before I leave. Last couple times I've ordered from amazon it took a week longer to get then what I was told. So I was hopeful I would find something local.

So I'm thinking of putting a 3" lift in my 99' Limited. With the lift and maybe some 31" tires, would I be losing out a lot on gas mileage? I really want more height, but I don't want to break the bank filling up all the time.

My 88 with a 5spd gets 17mpg on road trips loaded down with 3" lift, 31's and 3.07 gearing. Nt too bad I guess and could be better if I did my part.

OK put a 4.5 lift on a 1996 4.0.
Rock Hard front and rear bumper system
Bought drop control arm kit along with the full suspension lift, Quadra Tech came with bushing blocks for cross over for transfer case adjustment the whole 9 everything needed to do a complete from the frame down kit.
This is now the forth rear end I have had to fix since the lift MOD.
Even had the slip yoke and transfer case rebuilt at time of lift for a complete system being done right. Over $6000.00 between lift kit, bumpers, winch, rims and tires, control arms, shocks, rear drive shaft, slip yoke eliminator, springs, lee springs for rear, and all new extended brake line kit for all.
Over this past year my son has blown the motor up once, LOL so replaced that and had to do rear then too, drove it back from Knoxville to Nashville and within 2 weeks started grinding and tore the rear end out. Replaced the whole axle and drive shaft. Drove from Nashville to Knoxville after one week of repair, gone again!! were do I start to have this issue fixed??

I am far from an expert, but if the same thing keeps happening I would suspect something wasn't done right or is out of alignment/bent.

The further you stray from the stock tire diameter the more it will effect your mileage. Also the high you lift you jeep effects your aerodynamics. It becomes like driving a great hulking sail down the road.

What was blown about the rear axle? What t case do you have? What gearing do the axles have? What size tires are you running? Do you have a locker? What was the condition of the axle that went in? What does your pinion angle look like?

The pinion gear looks pretty bad do not know what all is broke inside yet I have not tore into it. This is the forth time the spider gears seem be be crunched. Dana 35, rebuilt completely, running 33inch tires, no locker. I need to check pinion angle cause it looks off and the drive shaft is fully extended and has no more movement.
I see the problem.....

I know this thread is for lift and tires but I was not sure where to post this so I will just put it here as it deals with modified cherokee.
I just need opinions on the Powertrax No Slip locker for the rear Chrysler 8.25 axle, 29 spline.
I am moving some money around to pay some bill and going to keep out enough to pay for my gear install and some lockers for front and rear. I would love ARB or Ox but the prices are outrageous.
I have read good reviews on the Powertrax No Slip. Opinions please. Thanks.

Had one in my 8.25"......Loved it!
Worked perfectly and it was quite, unlike the lokka/spartan/aussies (with regards to noise folks....don't get your knickers in a knot).
