"want to run stock bumper for now."
Unless your XJ has the optional tow hooks up front you have no recovery points there. For that matter you need something for the rear to.

Yep. Anything that ties further back into the "frame".
Knowing I wasn't going with an aftermarket bumper I put this tow hook kit from C4X4 on in the front.

I don't have any tow hooks on the front of mine yet, but I am planning on building a winch bumper and recovery points are easy to add in. I do have a class 3 hitch on the back that bolts onto the frame at the rear tires. Depending on the cost of steel when i start the front bumper I may weld up a rear at the same time and incorporate the hitch into it.
I just got mine two weeks ago and I am still trying to figure out what the previous owners have done to it. Looking at the picture of yours I think it may be raised a little already.

Sounds like a good plan. Never know when you'll need a pullout.
Yea. mines std height but the springs are in good shape. I did put on a set of high psi monotube shocks, removed the rear sway bar,and have quick disconnects for the front.

*Edit*
So as not to offend anyone, I would like to point out that when I use the term retarded, I'm referring to the feeling of being stupid, lacking intelligence, not smart, completely dumbfounded, etc...not to be confused with a reference to the mentally/physically challenged. I would not do that.
That is all, carry on.

What lift height requires extended brake lines?
I'm pulling the trigger on the 3" Zone Offroad today. I just want to make sure I have everything all ready to go that I'll need to keep the install going.
I always hate to stop mid-project for a missing part break...
Thanks.
