I'm putting Bilsteins on my XJ...shock boots or no shock boots?

I'm usually of the opinion that boots are stupid, but that's with bikes that I can clean often. I did already cut one off, but I can put it back on...

Sounds good to me. I figured as much. They used to come stock on every mountain bike around, until people realized they were stupid and left dirt on the seals & ruined the anodization.

Lifted 3" this past weekend and now I have a vibration when accellerating and a slight clunking sound when slowly rolling from the rear. Obviously this is a U joint... could it be a bad joint, not tight enough U bolts, longer driveshaft such as one from the front, or do i really need a TC drop or shims?

You want the pinion angle on the axle to perfectly match the angle of the t-case output shaft.

Personally, I hate how far the yoke sticks out the back of the t-case on a late model so I have to suggest a SYE.

I have a 3" lift on mine and I installed a RR SYE. Works great!

and don't say you can't afford it... I see the cars in the garage.

lol... well I did the 3" to avoid the SYE. If I knew I had to do a SYE I would have went at least 4.5... oh well... what TC do I have?
