Before I lift my Xj, should I spray down all the bolts with penetrating oil? If so, which one works the best?

Quote: Not sure about the Kenda's, but I had a set of Hankook's and they were awesome off road in any terrain. On snowy roads they sucked though. Good wear, not too noisy. Definitely a good purchase if you don't have snow to worry about.
Yeah some years we get 4-8" of snow some years we get none

I have Hankook's on my F150 and they are decent tires, not sure on teh Kenda's either not many reviews out there

That's not a snow that's a dusting. Most of the winter my lawn is under 2' but the moutain 20 miles away gets usually 510" a year average

Depends on what terrain you normally run. The toyo's will probably clean out in mud better based on the tread pattern, if you do more sand and red rock id go with the bfg's. Idk about the toyo's but I know the bfg has a great tread life and snow traction.

Jeep Liberty tires/wheels on stock 98 Cherokee
New to the forum so excuse the newbie question.
Picked up a completely stock 98 Cherokee SE 4Dr 4.0. w/5 speed manual trans. Plan on keeping original ride height and use for daily driver.

Need tires all around so figured pick up a set of used wheels/tires from a Liberty as it looks like they share a common lug pattern & center bore.

I see the Liberty wheels come in 16"-18". Any fitment problems anybody know of if I want to use these wheels/tires on my stock suspension 98 Cherokee that currently runs with 225/75/R15 on stock rims?

Also needs a complete exhaust. Any recommendations on where to get a complete low cost system.....nothing fancy needed, mostly concerned with ease of installation and durability.

Yeah, tread life is a big one for me because its going to be my dd but I'll take it out plenty of times as well. I like the aggressive look of the Toyos but I still want them to last, I'll probably end up going with the bfg's though. Do you know of any other A/T that is around $750?

Treadwright.com

And BFG A/Ts have one of the weakest sidewalls of all the major brands.

Can't help with the wheels but check out performance curve for a cat, muffler and pipe. The walker downpipe from amazon and an apn header from various places. That's what I'll be doing very soon.;

I am about to purchase a 3.5" lift for my XJ here in a week or two and there are a couple questions I have before committing to a lift or just leaving it stock. First off, how much strain am I am going to be putting on the drive train with 31" tires? Second what kind of parts should I look into replacing before putting the larger tires on? And finally are there any precautions I should take to prevent premature drive train failure? Thank you for all of you help or pointing me in the direction where I can find this information to answer my questions.

simple search would answer all your questions. but you'll be fine with 31's. the stock XJ drivetrain will suffice. for the most part and for most wheelers, the drivetrain will hold up to 35's.
