I still haven't found the correct seal for my SYE, but I know a lot about SYEs now. I'm starting to think I have the parts from 2 different SYE kits. The seal adapter from one and the flange adapter from another. Anyway, Napa will have the latest seal I order this afternoon.

Getting Ripped off by 4 Wheel Parts and Rubicon Express?
Going to try and make it as brief as possible. I found that Rubicon Express (based on the address on the back of their catalog) was located near me and that 4 Wheel Parts was their storefront at the same location.
Found a 5.5" lift I wanted for my '98 Cherokee. $1800 for lift alone. Was told by a good Jeep buddy to go in person to make sure I had all my bases covered and to make sure I got everything I needed to complete the install properly.
Went in and was surprised that I had to walk the customer service rep through their catalog to find the parts I knew I needed: lift, sye, driveshaft and gear box brace.
Took over 45 minutes to get him to complete entering in their system and pay for it. He told me that some of the stuff they had in stock, but the rest had to be ordered. OK - no problem. He mentioned that Rubicon Express was just next door.
Next business day (Monday) got a call that they ordered everything but that RE was in the process of changing shock vendors so the shocks were 3 weeks out. If I wanted them sooner I could get ProComp shocks (which I recently heard weren't that great... but I only have 1 word-of-mouth on that). I said go for it because I wasn't going to wait 3 weeks. They guy said they should all show up the next day.
I don't hear anything Tuesday and assumed that they just expected me to come in, so I show up Wednesday morning. To my surprise (and it appears theirs) none of the stuff had showed up yet and was "on the truck still". I was told it'd be unloaded soon and should be ready later that day. OK - no problem.
I get a call around 2:30pm and was told that they were having difficulty finding springs for my lift and they have to get back to me sometime this week.
My feelings are that maybe I just paid for someone to purchase 3rd party products for me and slap a Rubicon Express sticker on it. Am I getting ripped off here? I know I heard that RE had closed and was purchased by some other company. I have also heard that they USED to be a good brand, but now it's anyones guess. I don't want to pay top dollar for crap.
Am I just worried about nothing or what?

I have had Re stuff on my previous jeeps and have the post merger Re on my current Xj. I can tell you the quality is still there.

I am a former 4wp employee. I was canned for not pushing house brands. I can tell you some of the info I know is that RE went under in the recession somehow 4wp stayed afloat cause wellsfargo owns them and they basically ran on a month to month basis , Transamericanauto aka 4wp/4wdhardware/g2/Procomp/smittybilt bought Re In the merger contract Re stated that the parts must remain untouched and be manufactured in the same location that they were. So the quality is still there. However their warranty did improve.
I have had Re stuff on my previous jeeps and have the post merger Re on my current Xj. I can tell you the quality is still there.

My bad. I mean im going 3-4" of lift with 9-10" bump stops hopefully will have longarms soon. So should have loads of down travel. My question was how much will those shock lengths limit me not worrying about other components I have that all mapped out.

9-10" of bumpstop? Cut your damn fenders dude! And just because you've got a bunch of bumpstop doesn't mean you'll have loads of downtravel, that means you're limiting the uptravel. Your shock length is what gives you your downtravel. Bumpstops are to keep you from bottoming out your shocks and tearing up your tires on those freshly cut fenders you're going to do. I can't imagine why you would need 10" of bumpstop on a 4" lift.
