Default is stock steering ok with a 3 inch lift on an xj?

i have a 99 xj and im going to be putting in a 3 inch rough country lift with 31s pretty soon.

the stock tie rod ends could use replacement and i want to replace them while im doing the lift but im on a budget.

would oem replacements be enough if im just running 31s?

could i just get something like this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/91-01-Cherok...be1521&vxp=mtr

or is there another cheap alternative that would be a good compromise between toughness and price?

Get a ZJ tie rod. Upgrade in strength and cost about the same as replacement ends. Found in JUnk yards for cheap. It'll handle 31's perfectly.

The best bolt on upgrade I've done. Just make sure the ends and boots are in decent condition. Also it has to be a V-8 zj rod, otherwise its the same as the xj one.

so i have a 3.5" rough country lift on a 95 xj. i want a little more lift so i can put 33" or 35" inch tires under it, so i was wondering could i keep my lift kit and put a spacer kit on it like this one:
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits...pn=R%2fERE6165

and if i do go with this route would i have to install a sye and driveshaft?

You can use spacers on the front, but for the back get either longer shackles or shackle relocation boxes. Both will help with the rear articulation as well as give you the lift you want.

I need some quick suggestions, Bought a rough country add a leaf 3in lift, just to start me off.

Long story short, Front went in just fine, now the the back, i'm trying to take the leaf springs out, and the bolts holding them in won't come out. Not the U bolts, but the ones with the bushings, got one side out, and the other side seems like the bolt turns but wont come out, not even pry out.

Then the back bolt won't even break, who ever said lifting these things is easy is crazy, I got a breaker bar, and a impact, and a assortment of wrenchs and made it this far, just need some advice right now. please

You don't need to take off the leaf springs for an AAL. Remove the center pin, disassemble the pack, add your AAL, and reassemble with a new center pin.

Yes but it sounds like you have loosened the leaf pack bolt and broken the weld nut inside the frame so I would address that first. Don't stretch your brake line too tight lowering the rear end to take the pack apart

It might be seized inside the bushing. You can make sure it's out as far as possible from the frame rail and cut it out to replace it, or hit it the other way and try to thread it back in.
