My xj is a 99. How do I differentiate the renix from the old head. And I've heard that the intake manifolds are slightly different on the 99's and if you grind about an eight of an inch off the corner of the intake manifold then any 99 header should fit

Because the later models have the intakes like the 2000 and 2001
Which is a huge problem because the APN headers don't fit them. I called APN cause I was about to order and they said they dont fit late 99 models to 2001.
Unless you're up to doing some modification to it, I think you have to grind it down or something. I got a 2000 so im SOL. Buddy of mine had to send it back cause it didn't fit. Just a heads up!

Renix models stopped production around 91? Don't quote me on that. Yes 99+intakes are different, they are a common swap and give better flow. Id be very very careful about grinding these parts, the last thing you want is a hole or weak spot that will warp/crack when heated. Plus I don't know about you but I don't have an extra 2-300 dollars laying around!

What about RENIX headers ?
i see only OMIX and Pacesetter.
Is it possible to use 91+ exhausted mainford .
i do not care about egr tube i`m already lock ti`s operation with steel plate. so tht question is: 91+ headers have o2 hole and does header angles same with renix header ?

so the engine im going to be upgrading and tossing in my xj is a 2000, what exactly is it you need to grind? does any one have pictures? depending on the conclusion here, i might just look towards getting the rugged ridge header. its only about 20-25 more shipped? do these headers fit every 4.0 engine? i thought the apn one did but guess not lol

x2 for the APN. Best price you can find.

APN left vs stock on right.
Sorry for the crappy pic.

so everything im reading is that the majority of aftermarket headers are only for the 99- models.. bc those only have the 1 cat where s 00-01 have the 3 cats. now when it comes to modifying a 99- header it was mentioned earlier all you need to do is grind the runner a tid bit. is this only mod to do? is this something ppl reccomend or something i should stay away from? iv also heard as long as you switch over the part differances from the 99- and 00-01 then any aftermarket header will bolt right up? all opinions/thoughts/experiences will help thanks!

Does anyone know the brand of this header? I like that it is a 3-2-1 setup (as far as i can tell) and looks to be a good setup for low end torque. To me (who is pretty en educated on exhaust) this looks like one of the best header designs i can find outside of the old mopar one. Any info? Tm
