Well I'm 18y.o. going to college on $7.50 an hour so money is definitely a speed bump BUT I'd much rather pay for something that's worth it. What muffler do you run with the borla?

Well my jeep is REALLY loud. I'm running a single chamber flowmaster haha
If your not looking for LOUD, you can always go with another style. But you can defiantly hear the difference with this header.
I wish I could speak from experience about the other brands of headers, but I can't.. However, I am all about quality, a good warranty, and customer service! And Borla had all of those so that is who I went with. And I have a smile on my face every time I start the jeep!!!

if the borla was so expensive id go with it, but being o a budget the APN at around 180 shipped is just the best bang for my buck with my funds atm.

Yeah I defiantly see where you are coming from.
I'm not going to lie, it was difficult for me to pass that one up!
Haha I'm not a Borla salesman or anything like that!
I just ended up with their product and I wished I had someone give me straight answers when I did my research.. So here I am to try and help someone else out

Right on!
One thing I would recommend doing if you stick with the APN (or any other flange style header) is get a new down pipe made. Get rid of that stock (crushed) restrictive one!
Good luck man!

if the mandrel down pipe is the selling factor on the borla i think walker and another company sell a non crinkled factoy downpipe its not mandrel but it certainly isnt nearly flat...

Ive looked all over for exhaust kits, but they're all just a bunch of dimensions and no diagrams. I'm going to be doing a whole intake exhaust re-do in a few weeks, and I was hopefully going to do a cowl intake to a 99+manifold with a 60mm bored 99+tb with newish injectors and upgraded fuel rail. Continuing on with apn headers, magnaflow cat, and walker exhaust because its quiet (I do a lot of driving through neighborhoods at night). I would like to use 2.5" exhaust throughout. Sound good? If my numbers are correct I should be in about 1200-1600 dollars. There is also a possibility I may be getting a new motor from a 2000 but that ones iffy because we aren't sure if it runs.

CHECK THE YEAR OF YOUR XJ

Check if it's a later 1999 model (passed 06/99)

Because the later models have the intakes like the 2000 and 2001
Which is a huge problem because the APN headers don't fit them. I called APN cause I was about to order and they said they dont fit late 99 models to 2001.

Unless you're up to doing some modification to it, I think you have to grind it down or something. I got a 2000 so im SOL. Buddy of mine had to send it back cause it didn't fit. Just a heads up!

Whoops sorry that was meant for another thread. I meant to ask: if there are any renix headers, I noticed there were a bunch of threads involving heads/headers not lining up. Also something about the intake manifolds and what not. Id like to break it down.

What head/intake did they use to create the headers with?

Do renix model headers exist TODAY? If so where can we get them.

Do these models work with upgrades? Such as a 99+ intake on a renix head?

Ill be asking around, calling places, etc. Ill post my findings, I just wanted to get the juices flowing.
