Default Adjustable track bar

I just read some thread on a guy who welded up some POS track bar, pretty funny acctually. I did have an idea to make one but i'm gonna run it buy your guys first. If i take my track bar to the machine shop, have it cut and have them thread the cut ends and use my spare drag link adjustment sleeve. Would that be to weak to hold? I got the idea from this pic:

It looks like that track bar has the same thing. Obviously aftermarket but just wondering if i could do it with my stock one. Also i had this up in the fabrication section because it involves cutting and threading a metal track bar but i guess i was wrong.

If you have the resources give it a try but modding a stock bar which is probably worn might be like shooting yourself in the foot.

Personally I would run the Teraflex bar and be done.

that teraflex bar is expensive for what you get. still uses the stock bracket. there are much better options out there for less money. personally i would just build a new unit than modify the stocker, but what you have planned would probably be ok for light wheeling.

Yeah my rig is more of an expedition vehicle. Also my daily driver so no heavy wheeling. I found a couple people with slightly used adj track bars for less than $50 today so I'm just going to go with that.
