I agree, I was personally looking at drop brackets and adjustable arms myself. In the end its about the same cost as long arms, and im sure long arms have a better ride and abit more droop then short arms with drop brackets.

I got my RE control arms and drop brackets for $300 between cherokeeforum and NAXJA. Mind you, I was in no hurry to find the parts so I just kept an eye out in the classified forums until I found what I needed. Took a few months to locate everything I needed to lift from 2" to 4.5"
The only new components that I bought were the ACOS, the trackbar, and the lift shackles. Control arms, DBs, braces, ZJ tie rod, JKS discos, and springs are all second hand

If you buy everything new, maybe.

Not bad at all. Saving a little long and for a little over $600 you can have a brand new long arm upgrade as long as you already have the supporting parts,

I was just told by an employee of Zone offroad who my lift is through that their lifts are designed not to need control arm drop brackets. Would this be the case?

Call them back and ask how they adjust for the steep control arm angle sending force back into the frame/mounting point without lowering or moving back the rear CA mount.

Technically you don't need control arm drop brackets. If they did every company that manufactures lifts would include them in there kits. Drop brackets simple correct the increased control arm angles which in turn gives you better ride quality. I ran my RE kit for 4 years without drop brackets. I just recently threw on some drop brackets and it’s like night and day. The ride is so much smoother and quite a big difference in flex as well.
