Adding an additional power lock/window switch?
So there I am in the Kroger parking lot last night, loading my beer and shrimp into the back. I unlocked the lift gate with the key, just like I always do, and it hit me: why couldn't I add another lock/window control somewhere in the cargo area, so I wouldn't have to unlock the doors again. Now I know this sounds picky, but if you have done this enough, it gets kinda repetitive and old. It also becomes a pain when it is raining, or the kid is fussy, etc. I have searched to no avail for someone who has done something similar, although this may be due to not knowing what to search for.
So my thought process goes something like this:
1. Determine if it is possible to have more than one "driver's side door" control in the circuit.
2. Find an accurate wiring diagram to see where I could tap into the appropriate wires.
3. Purchase a JY driver's side lock/window switch block.
4. Decide where to mount said switch.
5. Run wiring.
6. Mount switch.
7. Test.
Anyone want to take a stab at helping me with the research for this?
Please discuss.

I thought about that as well. It is an option. This is just a "feasibility study" to see if this would be worth doing. I am not at all hell bent on putting in an addition set of switches, just kinda thinking out loud.
The keyless entry option is an attractive one, especially since I would love to have a remote start. Last summer I seriously considered attempting to hack a keypad from an Explorer into the XJ. Still considering that too.

wiring remote start sucks.... it will be much more involved than a simple keyless entry system. If you don't mind though it is pretty convenient.
The keyless entry is very easy to wire. Power, ground, lock wire and unlock wire. Just make sure you get a model that has internal relays (it will say on the box).
