well I flipped the shims... now the angles are within 3° of each other... and I could be reading it a little off too...

at rest the CV drive shaft has 00.59" before it is fully compressed... that is better... but still it makes NO sense...

a SYE with XJ front drive shaft and a C 8.25 and a little over 4.5" of lift SHOULD have closer to 1.5" of slip before it fully compresses...

I guess I will have to move the axle back 1"-2"

ANY OBJECTIONS...?

another option that Go Jeep had suggested was to beef up and lower the rear leaf spring's front mounting point...

It rotates the axle forward...

ANyways onto your Home brew Relocation brackets... I see epic fail in your future do to the front half of the mount being cantelevered. You should have ran the part where the shcle is bolted to all the way back under the stock shackle mounts.

ALso.. not hating... from what I can see of your weld.... it needs a lil help. A good rule of themb is to have equal amount of weld on both plates being welded. Also depending on thickness you want at least 1-2x the thickness of material in weld. Meaning 1/4 plate should have a weld that measues at least 3/8 from the corner of the fitment.

thank you ping pong... the good news is that was a very early picture... and early test fit... since then the brackets are now welded to the original shackle boxes and to the unibody... there have also been supports welded in...

in short if they are going to break off they will have to take the unibody with them...
