acceptable CFM
Hey guys,
I recently chewed up an E fan I had wired in on a toggle in place of the stock A/C fan. I figured since ill need a new one any way might as well get 2 and ditch the mechanical fan. I had 2 questions on this. Has anyone ditched the mechanical and e fan for one monster e fan ?? I think this is not really a plausible option for a few reasons but wanted to see if anyone had good results with it. Secondly, im looking to get 2 11in e fans to replace my current set up and wanted to know what a good combined CFM of both fans would be to keep me cool? I'll toggle both in but have one always running when the motor is on. I know this has been covered alot but I could not find any exact cfm values for both or even acceptable for a single fan.
Thanks. Lets hear your setup/input

I just wired the e fan to a switch, works fine, The one e fan works fine for me and haven't really seen a need for another one except for the fact that it is cool

Well yes, I did the same thing wired my stock AC fan up to a switch and it worked great for a bit, untill it was chewed up by the pully. Im now looking for what a good CFM for running either dual fans (remove mech fan) or for just replacing the chewed stock fan. Does any one know what the CFM of the mech fan?? And hopefully the CFM of the stock E fan as well from a 96 4.0??

i run dual stock renix fans on my renix mj... used oreillys kit to wire it all up and its adjustable so offroading i turn them to come on at the lowest setting so pretty much the whole time... there is no stupid toggle switch to leave on and kill the battery or forget to turn on and overheat... it senses it all for me and worth the $35... i trimmed them to become basically one shroud and far away from the oem pulley (all the way drivers)... still offroading i catch the fan on the bolts... i need to cut the half inch off them that hangs out now and im sure itll be fine... also doesnt help that it looks like i busted a brand new motor mount last trip out.. brown dogs to come!
