Default 99 rear bump mount/bracket removal?

i have never seen anyone mention this, but im assuming its needed for rear stiffeners and such. does anyone have any reference to removing the rear bumpstop bracket off the frame? mines got some rust on it and ide simply like to rid this water holding plate.
is there anything to cutting this out that one needs to be concerned with?

thanks all

Now if you look at what that was attached to, it's an added plate to the uniframe

I think I know what you are talking about.
Have seen them in the parts catalogs.
Does it look like the illustration here:

Do you have a Factory Up Country Suspension by any chance?
I believe that to be used with the longer bump stops that come with the Up Country Suspension.
But not sure.
Regardless pretty sure it just unbolts the same way.

I did have an up country, and that's exactly the part I'm referencing. I wonder why yours doesnt have it.

I really can't see what purpose it serves and why it appears it might only be used in the Up Country Suspension.
Would like to see a shot of whatever is left of your bump stops.
But in that first link I posted see the SDU?
Pretty sure that is an Up Country designation.
This is a link for the shorter bump stops. What I believe to be the regular ones.

Notice how it says "Without SDU"?

Up country suspension package is supposed to be 1" higher, so you would need 1" longer bump stops.

That is what I said in an earlier post.
Maybe reinforcement since you have an Up Country Suspension and Jeep
figured people might bash the bump stops more.
I don't know. LOL
Like I asked would like to see a picture of it.
