Default 99+ Mainfold Swap Questions

Need some help from some people who've done the 99+ Manifold Swap.
Yes, I've read about every forum I can find on this.

Parts I have in the works:
99+ Intake Manifold
96+ Steering Pump Bracket
Set of 703 Fuel Injectors
94 TB Bored 60mm

The problem:
I don't have a pump for the 96+ bracket.

So the question:
How do I make my 94 Pump work in the 96+ bracket, which tensioner style and belt routing do I do?

I don't think u would need to use a newer pump. I had few of my customers install the manifold using the old pump.

Thanks, i know I've heard you can do it. But not sure what all is involved to make it happen.

I think you just need to drill out one of the holes on the pump. I changed out the pump when I did my swap.

Yes, Ideally I believe the best solution would be to change the pump.

However, I don't want to waste my money on a 96+ pump when the better option is a 4.7L steering pump. I just feel that I don't have enough frame reinforcement to hold it up at the moment.

Is a 4.7 pump a better one? I has never heard of that one.

Oh yes. Late model WJs have hydraulic main fans, the pump moves more juice to accomodate.

Yes, however word of caution on the 4.7L pump.
With a higher flow comes more force applied to the uni-body. Needs to be braced accordingly from what I understand, which why I'm not doing it just yet.

Where did you hear that? It's very confused.

The pump simply provides hydraulic power to the steering box. The steering box converts this energy into lateral force when it turns the tires. The only thing you change is capacity within the hydraulic system, which is a couple of cast iron boxes and some hoses. How much force you actually apply is based on the load and how fast/hard you turn the wheel.

When you start turning larger tires is when you need to brace because more force is required to move them. Even with a stock pump and steering box.

Also Cherokees are not uni-bodies

Getting off topic but....

The 4.7L Pump + Darango Box are to make steering easier, why?

Because they will apply more force when needed.

When it is needed is when the Tires DON'T WANT to Turn. The setup would say do it anyway, putting more stress on the Uni-Frame because that is the point of contact that the Box has without a brace to distribute the load equally.
