Default 99+ intake downgrade

Hello all. I have a '94 XJ. 4.0 auto..I have one of the 99+ intake manifolds in my Jeep. I have felt that it gives me a bit more power but lately everything I am doing is to try and get a bit more MPG out of it. Do you guys think it could be hurting my fuel milage? I still have my old one so it's no problem putting it back on one day.

No, it's probably helping your MPG.

better airflow usually = engine is running better = better mpg's. I'd keep it on rather than going back to a more restricted intake.

Was'nt hard. I've done it twice now. On a pre-'96 XJ it's a bit more involved as you need to change the power steering bracket...Remove the old idler pulley on the other side of the engine..Get a different sized serpentine belt and re-route a few of the vacuum lines. Othe than that everything is a direct bolt on and everything lines up the same.
