Default 99 axle?

Will a front axle out of a 99 work under my 92? Or will I need to change some stuff?

Shoud be same gears, they didn't change much over the years except on the four cylinder models.

4 cyl auto: 4.56:1
4 cyl manual: 4.10:1
6 cyl auto: 3.55:1
6 cyl manual: 3.07:1
TD auto: 3.55:1
TD manual: 3.07:1
Rare old towing package: 3.73:1

Unless the U bolts look original or you see a tag on the diff there's no way to be sure other than by counting pinion:wheel rotations or popping off the diff cover.

Note that when changing between auto/manual & D35/C8.25 you need to get an appropriate driveshaft as they change lengths.

I'm only changing the front axle not the rear if that makes a difference drive shaft wise. And if it has the 3.07's I guess il be swapping gears over

Whoops sorry. Only the D30 up front so you don't have to worry about that.

No one asked. 99 is the year where it can be lp or hp. Your 92 will be a hp. If the one out of the 99 is a lp you cant swap gears.

Uhh, 2000-2001 had lp axles, I thought? A 99 would have a hp.
