98 XJ exhaust replacement and upgrade
Please dont yell at me guys and gals but I just couldnt weed thru the sea of 174 pages of info reguarding exhaust for my XJ.
i need to replace my cat and muffler and was wondering what the best parts were to buy in the aftermarket.
should i get a high flow cat? if so what one?
what cat back exhaust should I get?
I dont want anything noisy or that causes a drone in the cabin, just replacing a stock system and I want the best I can get.
Please advise.

Magnaflow high flow cat and magnaflow (or whatever) cat back would be probably the best for an upgrade as it would be "high flow" and all the new piping would be good for flow as well. Just shop around for the best price. Flow master and glass packs are going to be loud.

Look in the venders section and look for mudfrog. I'm currently running his cat back kit.
I opted for a Magniflow high flow catalytic converter, Flowmaster Super 44 muffler and tail pipe. (All 2 1/2") And it cost me around $180 with shipping. I'm happy with it....

I think Performance-Curve is another vendor on here. I've got parts from him at a good price and shipping was quick.
He is currently running a 20% discount on Magnaflow and his 2.5" mandrel bent piping is high quality...

If you're just looking for better flow without the noise you could go with our muffler back kit with a turbo muffler. It will be quieter than both the Flowmaster and MagnaFlow and it will still flow much better than a stock muffler.

Also please Price me on a CAT and Magnaflow/ Flowmaster all the wat back shipped to the same.
My CAT makes so much noise its silly and my muffler has a leak arount the inlet pipe untill it warms up so its time just to replace it all.
Like I said.... whatever is better than stock but not sacrificing anything. I want to still pass emissions, and not let everyone know Im coming! ha
Again its a 98 XJ Auto I6
Thanks guys.
