Has anyone ever added a fuel pressure regulator to these returnless systems? The reason I ask is because I've had to replace fuel pumps 3 times in these model years and an FPR seems like it would reduce this. I was thinking of doing it right at the line on the fuel pump and punching a hole in the tank for the return, but a better location would be at the fuel rail so all the cooked fuel gets returned to the tank to cool off. That would help alleviate misfires as well.

Dropping an FPR out of the equation just increases stress on the check valve and the pump. When the vehicle shuts off the heat from the engine bay causes the fuel to expand at the rail, raising pressure, and I have a lot of under hood temperature with a non-intercooled supercharger.

Thoughts? Ideas? Experience? Flames?
