95 Suspention & Axles under a 2000??
Thinking of getting a newr bodied XJ but my suspention & axles were built for under a 95, so will i have any issues swapping everything over from the t-case on down?? Also i like the older styled front clip, so is there anyone whos done a writeup on swapping out the front grill & all??

As for body parts, not 100% but I think it can be done. You would need to swap both front fenders and of course the front header panel/grill
2K's are great XJ's other than the anemic 0331 cylinder head. They are known for "cracking" on this year model. In fact about half of the 2K XJ's produced have had a cracked head. Look the engine over good for any signs of coolant in the oil and oil in the coolant. I wouldn't keep the head issue from buying a 2K but always keep in mind that at any moment you may need to do a new cylinder head. This could cost upwards of $700 if you have someone else do the work, a couple of bills if you do it yourself.
Good Luck

Im really eyeballing this 98 XJ with 68,000 miles on it & not a spec of rust!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...item25696c0f58
What do u guys make of this one??
The plan would be to first install the stiffeners, plate the rest of it front to back, aftermarket bumpers, swap in my sliders, etc. Then start tying everything together in the form of an exo, but first establishing a stought unibody. Then comes everything else. Its gonna suck a bit with winter breathing down on us, so this winter may get chaotic!! LoL

if youre just going to do all that work to it, dont start out with a nice Jeep for $4500, start out with a mediocre Jeep for $1k. In fact, the price for that one is pretty steep as it is, though its in great shape

Ext. idle is when your in park or neutral hit the switch it raises the idle to 1000 RPMs to help with alternator out put its good for jumping some one or just need more power for example when tow trucks are idling you can hear the idle jump up same for a gas engine with ext. idle

Well the idea behind spending some extra change on an XJ in this good of shape is just that, its in great shape!! I get piece of mind with a motor thats got only 68k on it, no ones ever wrenched on it, every little button works, theres NO rust anywhere, & it will please the family members that dont understand or agree with the whole jeep'in thing!! Once they see that i bought a jeep with no existing headaches, it will be easier on ME to then continue my build. It will also be much easier to work on with no rusted out parts & will be easy to weld to, plus im welding to a very straight unibody thats never been in any accidents. Once im done plating the unibody, armored it all up, bedlining the inside & out, ill never have to worry about rusted out floors or a tweeked unibody again!!
