You might want to read this before you put in the effort of installing it: http://www.jpmagazine.com/techarticl...s/viewall.html.

I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer and I know this mod is somewhat popular but... I've read an article with real dyno numbers showing the newer intake actually did more harm than good. It either robbed power or gave so little increase that it was in no way worth the time, money or effort.

However, if you're doing it for the thrill of modding and making your ride more "yours" then I am all for it. I'm guessing you'd need the gasket to match the new one but I really don't know lol.

I did the swap on my 95. I do notice a difference in power and the engine seems to breathe better after 4000RPM. I did have to change the power steering pump and bracket to the 96 and newer pump and brackets, and reroute a few vacuum lines, not a huge deal. If you can get the manifold for less than 50 bucks, it's worth the time and money to do the swap.

Annnddd here's an article with real dyno numbers.

http://mallcrawlin.com/forum/showthr...L-DYNO-NUMBERS!

I've done the swap along with pretty much every other bolt on performance and love it. It may not give you much with just the manifold itself but paired with other mods, I definitely noticed a gain.

its a group things. one mod by its self my not give you much but combining them will help. and often people only look and the numbers not the power band change.

If it'll make your seat-o-the-pants power needs happy then don't ditch the idea. You'll need pretty much the whole power steering setup from the newer model.

the pump also? mines fine id hate to buy a new pump and lines. If its just some simple brackets ill probably do it if i have to redo it all that puts a damper on the idea.

You can make your pump work, but you do need to change the pulley to the 96 and newer pulley. The hose are the same, not need to change them.
