8.8 Question.
Does anyone know which vehicles have a ford 8.8 with 4.56 ratio? (Front & or Rear)?
*Still looking for an 8.8 4.56 front differential; let me know if you have any information on where to find one.
Update: 1999-2008 Ford Rangers have an 8.8 rear with 4.56 gearing.
1999,2000 Are listed as s302g or s302l
1993,1994 Are listed as s302g or s302l or v302b
Does anyone know what these indicators mean?

The short answer is probably no.The lowest factory ratio i know of is a 3.31 in the crown vics,And ford never made a solid steering 8.8 axle ever. The only front 8.8s are ifs like in the 97 and newer f150.If your looking to swap axles go 1 tons and be done with it,Axle swaps cost a lot and 1/2 ton front and rear vs 1 ton is not that much money.

I suppose I should clarify that I'm doing an upgrade to 35"s.
Ive heard some say that the D35/D30 can handle them but I've also seen them snap. (y2u.be/sT0Z38h7pHY)
I've heard that the 8.25 isn't much of an upgrade plus the D44 is really hard to find up north.
It sorta feels like the 1 tonne upgrade would be overkill. (I may be wrong)
Which leaves the 8.8 (Preferably in 4.56 ratio to match stock)
I know they do exist (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_8.8_axle) (y2u.be/tuHN5LjNj4g) I just don't know where.

Are you trying to break the slowest land speed record possible?
2.73 gears and 35's? You're going in the wrong direction for gears. That isn't low gears, that's tall gears.

I'm actually looking for a 4.56 ratio.

You might need to do a little more research first.
There is no solid axle 8.8 front, only rear.
4.56 *may* exist OEM in a rear, but you might have a better chance finding a real life unicorn.
An 8.25 is bolt in, pretty much as strong as a D44 if not more, and can easily be upgraded to disc brakes. They're also plentiful, you'll want a 29 spline.
So, get a 8.25, get the D30 and 8.25 regeared to whatever you like, and be done.
I'll be running a D30/8.8 in my mild rig. But, an axle swap, fabrication, gear setup, etc. is a walk in the park for me.
