8.8 Pinion angle

I swapped my 8.8 into my 97 XJ tonight. I'm using the Iron Rock Offroad kit. I set the pinion angle to 10 degrees as suggested and tacked in the perches at 0 degrees. Everything lines up fine but I believe my pinion angle is a little off. My understanding is I want my T-case output shaft and my differential yoke to have very similar angles. I have attached photos showing my angle finder attached to various spots. From what I can tell I should break the tacks, and lower my pinion angle to achieve a closer angle between the T-case and diff yoke. The difference is 5.5 degrees between the two right now. Is this acceptable? Thanks guys.

84 Degrees at T-case output shaft

85.3 degrees at T-case fill plug

78.5 degrees at diff yoke

10.2 degrees on diff housing (is this correct place to measure from?)

0.1 degree spring perch.

Do you have an SYE? If so you want the pinion pointing at the transfer case output. If not the pinion and transfer case output should be parallel with each other.

No SYE. Just stock driveshaft. So I should redo the spring perches at 0 degrees when the diff yoke is set at 84 degrees to match the T-case output?

Your are only about a degree off. You can use up to 4° difference and be OK

How do you figure I am a degree off? My T-case is at 84 and my diff yoke is at 78.5. I'm new to calculating drive line angles so I'm not sure how you got that.

Whoops, I misread I guess. But a shim under the springs will correct that or you can relocate the perches. As stated, you need to be within 4°

Thanks! I'll break the tacks and just move them a bit. Appreciate the help.
