Default Need help on setting pinion angle

I installed 3" lift and measured my driveline angles. the t-case is at 4.5 degrees down and the pinion is at 9 down. I read that the pinion angle should be 1-2 degrees different than the t-case angle to compensate for acceleration. Answering one of my questions should answer all of them...
Should the pinion angle be steeper than the t-case angle so that the angles match during accelertion? Or should the pinion be shimmed to make it a less steep angle compared to the t-case? I basically just cant figure out which way the pinion angle moves when accelerating. Does it move in the same direction as the wheels or opposite?

Then your pinion angle should be the same angle as your transfer case output. If you're out put shaft is pointing down by 4 degrees then your opinion should be pointed up 4 degrees.

Ok but I was told that the pinion should be 1-2 degrees different to compensate for acceleration but idk which way the pinion moves when you accelerate.. So maybe I will just match them...

In other words if I set the pinion to point up 4 degrees, when I accelerate will it turn with the wheels and flatten out a little to about 2 or 3 degrees or will it turn opposite the wheels and point further up to about 5 or 6 degrees?

Thanks for that link. Lots of good info. So according to that I should make them equal and not worry about the slight change during acceleration. Correct?
