8.4L v10 viper engine swap?
Hey fellas. I'm working on swapping my '01 4l xj soul and have started doing the research on what size of an engine I should get a hold of. I've been leaning towards Hemi but just recently I've stumbled upon an idea. 8.4l... over the top and unnecessary but think about it.. I would appreciate any feedback, and don't hold back. Thanks guys.

I'm going to assume you know the normal prices for these engines/transmissions. along with knowing the major engine bay fabrication required to make it fit.
if not, good luck
if your just after power, a built carbed SBC or injected LSX will work and is cheap and easy enough to make the 4wd work.
if you're really after the cool/unique factor of the hemi or viper motor then I hope you have real DEEP pockets

Just about any engine can be stuffed into just about any vehicle if you've got the resources to do copious amounts of fabrication.
One of the biggest hurdles is going to be cooling that motor.
You might want to consider something a little less beastly.....

Do what you want, but youre not gonna find any writeups or instructions. You will john glenn this one, and will need to post numerous pictures while you do. Maybe you can chop the rear and put your radiator(s) back there, like baja trucks? Its an amazing idea, in theory, but like everyone else said, hope you have deep pockets, alot of fab skill and a whole ton of patience. Goodluck sir.

Engine: 4.6L stroker
8.4l swap??? With enough, time, money, skills, knowledge, patience, Fabrication i guess anything is possible. Honestly because that particular engine is such a monster, i dont see how the auto transmission in a xj could possibly handel it lol. I have a 4.6 stoker in my 00 xj and honestly it really pushes the aw4 to its limits.
