I must agree here if it works use it or have it repaired why change it out for another one like a LS unit and not an auto locker.

a no slip is an auto locker, just quieter than other auto lockers.

I have one on my Christmas list, but I might have to wait pending some major repairs to my GTI.

I have a no slip and it's definitely the best option for auto lockers.. Have buddys with detroit full case lockers and that ratcheting would drive me nuts... Mine is completely silent and I've had it 3 years.

they really are awesome. I wasn't planning on locking until I found out about it because I can't afford a full case and I can't stand the ratcheting.

A LS isn't an auto locker they do not work alike or have the traction of an auto locker the lunchbox's are a better choice for off road than a LS.

I have ran Detroit's for years in cars I drive on the streets whit a lot of HP and still do in the wife's toy an 870HP BBC in a Fox Body. They are not that noisy period having driven 1,000 of miles over the yrs. are in a tight area like parking lot, yes. That is about the only time you will hear any sound coming from them.

If one is making a lot of noise then something is wrong and needs to be checked for proper install or repaired.

a no slip is a powertrax locker. They make a version that can be put in a limited slip carrier. It is a quiet auto locker. I was referring to lunch box auto lockers that ratchet around turns. The no slip locker does not ratchet around turns. I know the difference between a locker and limited slip differential. A no slip is indeed a locker. The name is misleading but it is a locker. It is the quietest lunch box locker made.

I also thought about putting a lock right in the front but I am not sure if it will be too hard to turn in 4x4 or how it will handle on snowy roads. I'll always have my f250 to drive if it is to bad it is my main daily driver anyway . I was also wondering how well the front u joints and axle shafts will handle a locker and 31s off road?

I run 33's and 35's both off road with 4.56 gears locked and have not broken anything so far but do carry spare axles for front and rear. I rebuilt the front DS when I lifted it to 4 1/2" and installed an SYE with new custom rear DS. I use the axles for my weak point when something decides to break its them the cheapest and easiest to replace.

I daily drive my jeep with 31" tires and a rear locker, not too bad and I haven't broken anything yet.

I am more worried about the front breaking something than the rear. I'll lock the rear first and may lock the front if I think It needs it.
