I have a Chrysler 8.25 with limited slip in the rear of my xj I am assuming it is a 29 spline since it is a 97 model. I want to add a locker in the rear but I haven't seen a drop in locker available for the ls carrier what options do I have other than going to a Detroit or swapping in an open carrier and adding a drop in locker?

Yes you do have the 29 spline axles. But you do have choices for a locker then it seems for a good one price may become an issue, a full case one like the Detroit is the strongest and quietest.
What size tires are you running and if not stock have you changed gears already? If stock you might be better off having yours rebuilt if not working properly, may be the cheapest route.

I have an ARB front and rear...they are quieter than most all other lockers,
have never noticed them on the street
and have their advantages offroad, on the fly front or rear when needed.
For me now it would be either ARB locker if going locker or Detroit Tru Trac posi if going posi...

lets all meet at Superlift in Arkansas.
I'm running a lunchbox for now. works great for 200. I don't DD mine so gears are not a priority for me. makes gears and a selectable locker harder to spring for

I saw the powertrax no-slip for the 27 spline trac lok carrier but don't see one for the 29 spline version. I am building it to be a budget off road vehicle so I am only going to run 31 inch tires and I am keeping the stock 3.55 gears

I have the powertrax no slip and it works great. Install was very easy. You should have 29 but it would not hurt to verify.
