Default 8.25 leaf measurments??

Hey all, getting some custom made blocks with pinion angle milled in, so i'm looking for a few measurments, first is the stud coming out of the leaf pack, i need to know the size of it. And second is the size of the cavity on the leaf perch that the stud goes into on the axle., should be the same relative size, but need specifics to get parts milled correctly. Third is the length and width of the perch. I could tear down xj now, but it is a dd, and i work mon-fri, so if anyone has the parts laying around and could shoot me some #'s, that would be beneficial!! Thanks in advance, Joey

....well with all the stuff (HID Conv, Remote Start, 703 Injectors, Dual E-Fan Conv, Double Din DVD, Custom Stainless K&N Intake tube, Dynomax Ceramic Header, RC 4.5 Lift with disconnects , Iron Rock HackNTap , 31's, Aussie in front. ) you have so far.....your XJ sounds nice and I have NO clue why ANYONE would run a block. I got into this debate when I first joined and almost got banned cause I got pissed. So I'll play nice......don't ruin a nice rig with blocks......

The spring is 2.5" wide, the bolt is a 5/16" allen so it probably has about a 7/16" diameter head on it. The spring perch is about 5" long. The blocks (if reasonable in height) will be fine in terms of safety, but extended shackles and blocks do seem to wear out XJ leaf springs at a rapid rate.

I know, I didn't believe it either so I put the shackles on and 8 months later I was tearing it all apart to put in a bastard pack because my springs had gone well past flat to upside down.

You're going to need longer U-bolts for this anyway so by the time you get "custom blocks" made with new center pins you could have easily done a bastard pack. That would be a one time fix and you won't be tearing your DD down again in < 1 year to do it all over again.

thanks for the compliments, and i agree about blocks, but my reasoning is i cant find proper info about bastard packs, i dont have extra $$ to buy a 6" leaf pack, and got a brand new cherokee leaf pack and put 3" aal from kit in it and have 1.5 shackles for rear, i need about 2" more in rear and want a pinion angle adjustment, can any of you who chimed in help with a bastard pack configuration??? I would be more open to do this instead!! Thanks in advance.

If you make a seven leaf pack out of the extra Cherokee pack and your current springs you might get to a total of 6" of lift including your 1.5" shackles. They're all a bit different which is why nobody can give you an exact formula for your current leaves plus 2-3 other leaves and say for certain how many inches you'll get out of it.
