Default 60psi oil pressure

Hey guys doing one last check before I fire this thing up, I put a new high volume Melling oil pump in my new stroker build. My question is I primed the motor with an electric drill and on a mechanical guage I'm getting 60psi is this acceptable oil pressure? Im probably over thinking this but better safe then sorry.

Its not just the pressure off the pump....do you have oil in the cup at the top of each rocker? Rotate the crank 1/4 turn...pump for 2 min....crank 1/4 turn and repeat untill you go around 3 or more times. That hopefully insures you have oil into the main and rod bearings. If you have help...you continually pump while helper rotates the crank until they are tired...no plugs in makes it easier and you need them out to set distributor anyway. High pressure at the sender port does not instantly ensure oil is everywhere you need it. Rockers should be overflowing with oil. When you actually start DO NOT give gas unless motor is quiet for a minute or two and kill it if noisy after 5 or 6 sec

Yep, got lots of flowing oil out of the push rods onto the rockers, I don't have a helper but I did turn it over by hand several times while I primed it.

Sounds good, you can only guess if there is enough oil into bearings since you can't see them. Once fired up...let it run a minute or two to fully lubricate before cranking throttle. Good luck
