6.5 inch short arm
I had 5.5 with drop brackets. Rode extremely well and never got hung up! Would deff recommend them to anybody. And great flex also. Never had a tipping problem either. They allow the suspension to work like stock. But at 6.5 i would deff be running a sway bar!! I didnt need one before the drop brackets because of the extreme angle of the arms but after leveling them out i needed one...

im on long arms right now and it is the best ride and performance youll get. but my old xj on 4.5" short arms rode like a dump truck so i put on the drop brackets and it improved it by night and day on the rode and gave me a little more softness and flex offroad. i would 200% recommend these for your situation.

In other words, Right now, your LCA's are angled down (like its being flexed) just to compensate for the extra height in the spring simply at ride height. The stock Short arm mounts (Pivot points) are causing poor geometry since they are so high up compared to where the axle now sits due to the increased height.
When you go to flex more you will not have nearly as much as a short arm with drop brackets (which lowers the pivot point of the short arm, in turn, making the arm more horizontal, allowing more downward travel, IE: Flex). They are not a band-aid in any way. They correct the geometry and allow the suspension to work properly throughout a broader range compared to not using them.
Think of it as a bigger version of the stock suspension. Easiest way to think about it imo.
