Just did this conversion on my 98, a 93 transmission WILL NOT work, the front axle, transfercase, and driveshafts should work, the transfercase shifter itself will not work.

If you want to know the differences of the AW4 transmissions this is an excellent post on the subject. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1053970

It just won't pop into the console, PS: I am using Boostwerks shift linkage to make things easier and dumped all the linkage crap that came with the stock transfercase shifter.

I agree. But if you swap, make sure the front axle has the same gears as your rear.

Oh, if there's no motor or front axle I wouldn't worry about that one. You can find a better donor with a little patience.

For a $150 if you have the space, get it. Even if you only get case for a "spare". CL ad for oter parts/pieces, sell what you can in a month or two, then scrap it.

If you have the time and space to do it, absolutely. Plus you can take what you want as spares.
