Default 4wd linkage drop braket?

Okay so. my XJ wont shift into 4lo from inside the cab, I can get under it and put in manually and it works fine. I ran into a guy the other day and he said that he got a "drop bracket" for the linkage to make it work? I have searched EVERYWHERE! including the rancho website and have found nothing... I found the NOVAK linkage but its a little pricey so I was wondering if anyone has any idea of the bracket he is talking about or if there is something else I could. My buddy and I cut his linkage in half and welded a spacer in it and it worked fine, but I would rather find a right way to do it rather than something like that.

thanks in advance

They normally come with TJ body lift kits and some t-case drops. I have seen them for XJ's but can't find a link.

You could make your own, to put the pivot under the body mount instead of thru it.

I found a Skyjacker kit that is supposed to be for XJ, the pics give you an idea what's going on.

If you can find a TJ bracket, that will be fine, same design.

It would suck to buy a kit for one bracket.

thanks guys for the info! Also a friend of mine said you could cut a slit back in the floor so theres room for the shifter to move back. I don't know if it would but it sounds like it might

Cutting the floor for shifter clearance makes zero sense. The shifter mounts to the floor and the working parts are under. What the drop does is move one end of the linkage down to even out the linkage after dropping the t-case.

I did find another way, this eliminates the body mount entirely and mounts to the t-case.

Yea it didnt make a lot of sense to me either, but sometimes things dont make sense to me but they actually work haha. but with that bracket you showed the link to, im guessing it will fit a cherokee even though it says it wont?

Didn't see anything about not fitting a XJ but don't see why it wouldn't. Might be part of the floor gets in the way or the factory shift bracket that's welded to the floor.
