depends where you buy from and who you have install. i got yukon gears from a vendor on pirate 4x4 for 140 per set and im installing myself so i have 280 in gears for both of my diffs,
typically install is 170 per diff around here and yukon sets go for 250 per set so 250+250 is for gears. if you buy everything at once im sure youll find some kind of deals on installation.

if you have to ask about doing diffs i would suggest you take it to a shop to have it done right. if something is off a few thousandths then it wont take long to ruin the bearings.
my neighbor does it as a side business and it still takes him about a day per axle if its a jeep axle, toyota stuff is a lot simpler than our junk, but for me it would take about a day per axle also, plus a lot of breaks, drinks, cussing, and flying tools on occasion. imo its worth paying a shop to deal with it

Rusty's has complete kits that even come with the rebuild kits. Normally run about $450 for everything. A couple of things to think about; 1. If putting 4.56s in the front D30 you'll need a new low ratio carrier (about $70) 2. What size tire do you plan on running on that D35? With 4.56's and large tires your looking at possible breakage depending on how heavy your foot is.

I was checking out that deal on Rusty's as well. I'm not familiar w what's good or bad quality gears. But personally I'm sticking w what has had a history of good quality.
For OP. My 2cents would be find yourself a deal on a 8.25 instead of dumping money into that D35. With 4.56 gears I'm assuming your aspiring to run 33's or 35's tires. If that's the case. The 8.25 will serve you better. The 8.25 is also a bolt on application.
The ford 8.8 is a great choose to. Just involves a touch more work and parts.
If you get a 8.25. Get it from a later model XJ. i.e 98' 99' 00' or 01'. Those are garranted to have a 8.25. Most cats are reporting $200 or less for that axle.

I'm totally unaware that the XJ came w a D35 the later years.
For parts. All ya need to do is hit up a Junk yard and get a 8.25 out of a newer XJ. I'd say stick w the later models b.c Spline count is 29 opposed to the 27 offered in earlier years of the 8.25.
Does 916 stand for your area code? If so. That puts u in the Sac area. There's a kick @$$ jeep yard there. That's all he carries. Here's the URL http://www.jwjeep.com/

ABS cherokees have the Turdy5. Also, Rusty's sells Motive gears....very good brand. I have them in my Jeep and we have used them in several performance applications around the shop.

No sweat man. Also check Craigslist. You've got good posting around your neck of the woods.
I'm in Oakland and I find myself coming up your way for parts. All the knuckle heads here don't have much and they want too much coin for what crap they have.
Seriously. Check out that yard. The owners are wicked cool and full of knowledge. If you can't find it there. They'll lead you to where you can.
