about 5.5" and 35s..minor bumpstopping (maybe 3") and trimmed a bit. they rub in the rear but im fixing that. love the setup, very stable although the rear will be going up to about 6", tire carrier sagged it down to around 4". long arms help alot with the travel too

Are you planning on running 35s with a stock D35 rear? Plan on carrying plenty of extra axle shafts if you go offroad. Are a lot of you guys running 35s with D35s? That's just asking for trouble in a TJ, maybe your XJs aren't as rough on D35s......

im running a D30HP and Chrysler 8.25 29 spline in the back. very capable of running 35s on these axles. my buddy use to run the same setup on 36s and 37s with no bad results.

as for D35s..i wouldnt even run 33s on it really. but you hear stories all over on different sites. i carry an extra set of D30 and 8.25 shafts with me.

was about to say.... who's talking about putting 35's on a turdy five? a lot of these xj's are running the chrysler 8.25 rear end.

sell the 35s and buy 33s. or trade someone for some 33s that are in better condition

I was under the assumption that a lot of later model Xjs run a stock D35 rear. I just saw that his is a '91.........my bad.

no, it's usually the later models with abs that have the 35, all the rest I've seen (including my 97, and 2 friends that have 98's) are the 8.25.

yep, as a matter of fact, I think the 29 spline 8.25 didn't even come out in an xj til 97. the older 8.25's were only 27 spline.

I have a '99 XJ. It has a 3" lift with stock tires. I just got 34x10.5x15's (swamper TSL's)...Is there ANY way to fit them on my XJ? I don't care about trimming. I already took off the flares. Do I have to go 4.5 or higher lift? What are my options?

3in will do it a buddy of mine ran the same tires with a 3in lift on a 98 xj but u will have to trim the fenders and expect to rub if u get in a spot that makes it flex alot.
